What is the easiest commute to and from Dallas, Tx?
I am interested in moving to a suburb of Dallas. I plan to work in Dallas, so I will have to commute back and forth from Dallas. Is there a certain county outside of Dallas that is an easy commute?

While rush hour traffic is nothing compared to other cities like Chicago or LA, we do have our rush hour problems. So that said, pretty much anywhere you live you are going to have a dreary time commuting back and forth to work. There is the DART rail lines of course that you can use to get back and forth. www.dart.org If I could get to work using the rail lines I would, you don't have to worry about all the other fools on the road and who is going to cut you off or hit you on a given morning. But If you are going to live outside of Dallas County, you are going to have a long commute depending on what part of town you work in. Which makes it not an easy commute from anywhere outside of Dallas.

That depends on what part of Dallas you will be working in, but I really don't think there will be much difference if you plan to work near downtown Dallas. North of Dallas would probably be the worst.

If you can stay along the rail coridors, for example the TRE commuter rail system provides for easy commuting between Ft. Worth, Arlington, Grand Prarie and Dallas. Also, the DART system has good light rail service between Plano & Dallas. Avoid driving, the traffic is the pits!

i say any suburbs south of dallas because its older and u have more than one choice of how to get to dallas (cedar hill, duncanville, grand prairie, glenn heights, waxahachie, midlothian). dallas is growing fast and quickly up north. there is a lot of road construction due to the growth but just not a many travel options. traffice is very heavy up north heading into downtown dallas. i try to save my trips to the north part of town until the weekends.

Bryan County. Durant, OK. 1 hour 45 minutes from DFW airport. 15 minutes from the Oklahoma/Texas border. Great town. Low crime. Cheap property taxes. Easy commute. Growing Town. Check out www.durant.org .

If you don't mind an RV or trailer, Dallas Hi Ho RV Park just off the corner of W Bear Creek Rd & S Hampton Rd is a fairly good choice. Mansfield is a great place. Feels like a small town, but it is growing fast. Great housing market. Great schools. Great parks. 2 golf courses, one private one public. Lots of restaurants and shopping. My husband works downtown Dallas and it takes 30 minutes to get there with mild traffic. Depends on what time you leave, but, according to friends, it is alot better than being up north of the city.
